I designed the Sceptre 130 LB Class Black Widow Deep Drop Rod to provide my customers with a top of the line big game fishing rod featuring the ultimate components at a fair price. This rod is available with both deep drop combos, as well as individually, or combined with one of our 80 or 130 LB class electric or manual fishing reels. In addition to deep drop bottom fishing applications, this rod may also be used for high-speed wahoo trolling, or to fish planers. The AFTCO guides may be used with Monofilament, Monel Wire, or Jerry Brown braided Spectra fishing lines.For our deep drop rod, we use 3 AFTCO wind-on big foot roller guides and a swivel roller tip. This rod has excellent tip action allowing the angler to see and feel the fish biting, NOT a broomstick!. We use AFTCO, American Tackle, Stuart, and Winthrop adjustable uni-butts. ALL our Gladiator Series rods come with #4 size aluminum butts. The number 4 butts have the necessary diameter to support heavy electric fishing reels such as the Lindgren Pitman S-1200, Kristal XF 655 Broadbill, or Dolphin Penn 130 LB class electric deep drop reels.
