I purchased 4 Sceptre Rod combos from BMC tackle. I opted for the LX 6 Reel with the updated drag. I use these combos for catching Saifish off Florida’s east coast.  I am very pleased with my purchase. This rod has the best action I have seen in a live bait rod. Personally I favor a fast tip, and this rod has exactly the action I was looking for. After using 2 LX 6s without the update,  I was happy to learn there was an option to make these reels more Sailfish friendly. I now own 6 of these.

I really needed a solution to my live bait issues. Our bait was dying long before our tournament day was over. After speaking with several dealers, the only straight answer I got was from Lou at BMC. Lou took the time to explain the oxygen system, much to my surprise my issue was resolved by changing the configuration in my live well. After making the changes our issue was resolved. We then purchased the 220 hour oxygen system to increase our live bait carrying capacity, this system works very well for us. We caught a nice 33 LB Mahi not 5 minutes after putting the Sceptre Greenie Lure in the water. We had great results the rest of the day including a small 19 LB Wahoo that hit the Sceptre Black & Blue on the downrigger.
