24 OZ Dart Head Black & Red Trolling Lure
The grouper wahoo dart lures have been a deep trolling tradition for many years. These lures are available in
8, 16, 24, and 32 ounce weights. When deep trolling for grouper, these lures may be single or double hook rigged and trolled slow (4 knots) to allow them to sink while the boat is moving. The different weights allow the angler to troll these in different current conditions. Naturally the stronger the current, the more weight is needed. In addition, these lures may be used for subsurface high speed trolling for wahoo.
The Grouper Wahoo Darts from BMC Tackle may be trolled with monofilament, Jerry Brown braided Spectra lines, as well as wire lines. Due to the lure's weight, a planner is not necessary, however those who like using planers may use a planner in conjunction with this lure.
This lure will attract many different species of fish when trolled on the reefs. The list of fish includes Kingfish and other toothy critters, therefore we suggest rigging the hooks on these lures with either stranded cable or stainless steel wire. The leaders may be monofilament, wire, or fluorocarbon strengths suitable for the weight as well as the speed the lure is to be trolled at.
