In addition we align our reel seats where the reel tightens towards the butt of the rod. This alignment is imperative when running offshore. Kite rods or any rod, where the reel is tightened from the bottom towards the rod tip WILL become loose when running. This type of reel seat alignment will eventually cause the loss of an expensive reel, or someone getting hurt because the reel came off the rod, causing injury.
