Each light comes complete with both the alligator clips and the lighter plug connectors so the user may select the desired connection. This is an awesome feature because this allows the light to be used at the dock, or on a boat. In addition, this light may also be operated on regular household current, for those who prefer not to use a 12 volt outdoor power source, chargers, etc. The 120-240 VAC power source is optional and not included with the light. The light comes complete with dock or piling mounting hardware.
Additional Mounting Ideas:
Since these lights may be operated on a DC power source, the user may also mount these to a deep cycle battery. Given today's solar technologies, a trickle charge solar panel charger may be purchased and connected to a deep cycle marine battery, allowing these lights to be "solar powered". An automatic light sensor may also be added to automatically turn the lights on at dusk, and off at dawn. The amperage draw on these lights will allow a group 27 marine deep cycle battery to operate the lights throughout the night, and then recharge during daylight hours. It is important to calculate total amperage draw based on the light you select, then a suitable solar panel charger may be purchased to assure the necessary charge rate. There are several sizes of AlumiGlo DockPro SuperBrite LED Lights, and each size has different amperage draws, so it's very important to calculate your charging requirements before purchasing the solar panel charger.
